5.1 Ommegang

 

The parade of the Ommegang is a theatrical representation that takes place each year, in July, in the prestigious setting of the Grand Place. It recalls the pomp and ceremony of a splendid celebration held there in July 1549, to honour the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V and his son Philip II.

5.2 Zinneke Parade

 

The city’s cultural diversity is embodied in the so called “Zinneke Parade” - a biennal street parade that is the result of intense collaboration between residents, associations, schools and artists from different districts of Brussels.

The Flower carpet, framed by the centuries old houses of the Brussels’ Grand-Place is one of the city’s highlights and a distinguished trademark of the Belgian capital.
